Sabre has always been a reactionary company with no appetite for being proactive because that would been taking risks. Always playing catch up to Amadeus and to what Airlines want. The only reason for its survival this long has been the monopolistic GDS market (which continues to be its bread and butter. Though the butter seems to be going down in fat content steadily). The places where they did have competition (Travelocity, AS etc...), they have been decimated. Unless they are willing throw their current playbook out and COMPLETELY retool their culture and approach, it will be a death spiral
