Thread regarding FirstEnergy Corp. layoffs

Sh-- is about to hit the fan soon....BANKRUPTCY IMMINENT !! In meetings with creditors now !

The generation side is all but bankrupt now anyhow, just as Chuck Jones knew it, and said it would be.

They've been wanting this to happen since 2012 when Big Tony A. was still there... Jones is quoted as saying that the generation side is dragging the company down,... he meant his company, FirstEnergy, not FE Solutions.....I give the nukes and the coal plants until the end of September of this year, then its all over, they are already in talks with creditors and I am for certain the bankruptcy plan is on the table.

This is a guaranteed bankruptcy and they know that absolutely no one is going to buy these dinosaur plants.

Well played Mr. Jones, hope that golden parachute is as nice as Tony's was .

Actually , it's very, very likely. The poster is correct, Jones is quoted saying that FES is for sale, and / or going to file bankruptcy and /or shut down completely. I would say also that the OP is correct as to no one will be even interested in the generation side of the business, as long as First Energy owns the transmission and distribution side of the power, Mr. Jones and company could care less where or how it's generated. This has been a long time coming now. FES is on borrowed time and the Akron good ole boys know it. And yes indeed, well played by the powers in charge. They can't wait to shrug off the little ticks at these failing, and deregulated plants . The only thing that could save them now is PA and Ohio going regulated, which is a 2 to 3 year process with so much political red tape it would make your head explode...not enough time for them...TICK TOCK, time is up. Gas will be crowned the new king of energy...and the coal barons will sell the coal to eastern Europe at a premium and make a killing without any being burnt here....yep, the gig is up, dinosaurs are going extinct, and the little man gets it where the sun don't shine as usual. Good luck FES employees, get your affairs in order.
