This company no longer cares about their employees. They don't pay enough for what they expect out of you and job stability is not there. Employees are constantly being let go because of positions being eliminated. Absolutely no communication with management. Employees are in constant fear their store will be next to close. Management treats employees as if they are stupid and can't see all the changes being made that are leading toward their store closing in the near future.
Always understaffed and overworked and underappreciated. Grossly underpaid for the amount of work you're required to do. Vacation time is earned based on how much you've worked in previous months. Their attention to break schedules (15 min.) or basic employer needs is kept to a minimum...weird scheduling, you never know what the Sun thru Sat schedule will be till late Friday afternoon...you never know what days you will work or how many hours you will be given.
Giant Eagle is currently laying off full time hourly team members through voluntary lay-off and hiring part time team members to replace them so they will not have to offer benefits to those working less than 30 hours. Cross training is required with no additional pay.
They are always understaffed with stressed out and overworked employees. I'm constantly finding food with expired dates because they don't have enough employees to keep tabs on that, as well as old Ad signs with the old sale price still up.
Giant Eagle think about what you did over the past 5 years and how you destroyed families that worked for Giant Eagle more than 1/2 of their lives.. by letting them go and replacing them with younger kids. Try to find a new job at the age of 50 or 60!!!!
