What keeps you still working at Sabre?
There's is a lot of vile negativity and company bashing on this forum right now.
As a change of pace, tell us what keeps you working at Sabre.
Why have you not quit yet and gone elsewhere to work?

What is the severance package like?
the awful coffee in break rooms
lies about how well integrated we are
huge bonuses for the top and peanuts for people who actually work
So called latest technology
-best ETO org and awesome timelines to get anything done
disjointed management and requirements
Awesome HR and legal departments
Most honest sales team
The 10000 hour estimates from the most gifted developers
best ever architects
How can't you like working in this super awesome company
The pay's fine. The PTO is good as is the 401k match. The commute is great! I like the majority of people on our team. I just wish we had a manager who didn't act like they were in HS and always getting caught up in gossip discussions at the start of a meeting There is a definite lack of professionalism with some of these managers.
Best wishes for all this week!
I stay for the insurance for my kids, the steady paycheck, close to home (hate for anyone to have to commute here), and the great 401k match; but am extremely tired of the constant leadership change and lack of project ownership. How can we stay on any track if it's constantly moving? Everyone has their reasons. If you're single and flexible, there are plenty of better places to work for. Best of luck to all.
Are they really going to cut the severance?
Wow. If they did that I will quit in a heartbeat without at least a 20% raise and some stock. Even with the severance I am seriously considering quitting if things don't start improving soon.
Cutting the severance will be suicide for Sabre. They can not be that dumb can they?
I've had job offers with about a 10% higher salary but I cannot bring myself to quit and lose that severance safety and vacation that's been accrued. Plus my team is really highly skilled and fun to work with. Manager and PM are completely incompetent but they fortunately aren't really involved in anything we do. The irony in it is they probably will survive the layoff on Monday and we will lose a competent hard working person instead.
Yes, it's the severance package. If not for that, they can have my job. No one else will take it.
@syj ditto - I do like my team, my manager is pretty cool and knowledgeable... many other things s--- big time.
It's a balance between the terrible management and utter incompetence on one side and the other side's severance package and the desire and integrity to try to fix the problems for the benefit of all.
The rumour is that the severance package will be cut soon. If that happens then adios yall. All the fires I have to keep under control constantly will burn my area to the ground in weeks and I will not look back.
