When you get to the point that your team starts comparing number of years at the company and envies each other's layoff packages... You get 2 weeks per year. The 30-year+ lifers are just waiting for their HPE-paid year long vacation. Lucky dogs...

The HPE package does not deserve to be qualified as "Big".
A better title for this posting would have been "How piddly is your hpe severance package"
HPE "leads the industry" in offering lower benefits (2 days per year). Both Dell & Oracle still offer 1 week per year...

Sorry, but you don't have your facts straight at all.
As has been said, it's capped and the formula is pretty standard.
As for being lucky, someone who is so nimble and open to change that they stayed at a dying company for 30+ years complaining every day about how bad it is at HPE is going to find job interviews with millennial managers not so pleasant. The irony is that everyone on this site complains about how HPE targets "old people", when the fact is they still make up most of the company. When 90% of your workforce is over 45, obviously most of the layoffs are going to hit people over 45.
I was part of wfr in hpe us. You will receive close to 3 months salary in 3 installments. First 2 months of salary after 2 weeks (first installment) and next b/w 45-60 days and next after 90 days
WFR program currently offers minimum 11 weeks pay, plus two days per year for every year of service beyond 11 years. Someone with less than 11 years of service will get 11 weeks pay; someone with 20 years of service will get 11 weeks plus 18 days pay.... it will cap at 6 months. Recent 41 year veteran got 11 weeks plus 60 days pay (average 20 days per month = 3 months), so he received 105 days payout (11*5= 55, plus 60 days), not sure if he really reached the 6 month cap, but if he did, it was pretty close.
WFR'ed after 34+ years. The overall net was about 65% of a years pay. It is what is is. Good luck!
