Called the benefits center about not getting paperwork to apply to cobra they said all paperwork is to be sent out 2 1/2 weeks after August 5th. As of August 5th we have no benefits til we are accepted into cobra! So our insurance cards are invalid and we must pay everything out of pocket for at least 3 weeks! He did say once we are accepted all insurance is retro back to August 5th. Why couldn't we get paperwork ahead of time so there is no lapse in coverage?

Apply for Government Assisted Medical Benifits. All you need is your layoff letter. Every illegal qualifies, why won't you. It's the Kellogg's and democratic way of doing things. Free government benefits, oh, and don't forget to aplly for food stamps.
Cobra will cost an arm and a leg doubt many will sign up for it but u make a good point
