Thread regarding McAfee layoffs

July 2017 Portland layoffs

It seems that McAfee celebrated its independence from Intel by laying off people. Exactly how many is unknown, but a number of people were let go from Portland location this week. Whether more layoffs will follow is still not known.

Totally agree!!! We are not having marketing anymore, how do they want we to show our solution to customers/prospects without events? They are just focusing on digital marketing what it is nice but only a part of marketing than can help sales to do the job and selling: marketing is not anymore close to sales, they are not allowed!!!! CMO should give more independence and autonomy to field marketing, they are the ones that can help us to generate pipe and sell, with digital we do not create pipe nor selling...

Really a shame... They are killing what it used to be a great company with great products... Nowadays products are not working well, they are not running real marketing and competitors are gaining share of market and winning projects against us... Very sad!

Layoffs at multiple sites around the world. Engineering is affected by ~20%, in some locations even more. Some smaller sites are going to be closed soon. Overall it should be ~8% of workforce
