Thread regarding Giant Eagle layoffs

Loyalty only goes so far

Hey look, I work at giant eagle corporate. I shop mostly at Aldi's and wal-mart. I won't apologize for it either. Loyalty only goes so far. You can't beat the prices. It is what it is.

Giant Eagle is way too expensive. I guess the Shapiro's and their inner cabal need to get paid, because they sure as heck are not one of the best paying companies from top to bottom. Throw in the toxic corporate culture and back stabbing and I have had enough. I have been looking for greener pastures and ready to leave.

I agree, @Olrg980-6deo. If it was a small difference, I might consider giving back some of my hard earned money back to the company, but it's not an insignificant difference. It is enough to have me go elsewhere, without feeling bad about it.

Most of the ones brought back are ones that should never have been hired in the first place, let alone then be brought back as a retread after last years layoff.

The loyalty overfloweth. Has anyone noticed how many retreads there now are back at the corporate offices? Dozens of people that were let go last fall have been brought back. That is loyalty.

Yep, me too. Heck, I even eat Sheetz MTO's for lunch. Even the cafeteria is expensive! I may work at giant eagle, but it is just a job. I am only loyal to my next paycheck.
