Thread regarding Syntel Inc. layoffs

Need technically aligned managers

Managers who are non billable tend to lose their hands on technology and behave alien to their technical team.

These managers are the ones who frustrate the team members by not understanding technical skills involved and challenge in projects.

Need to get then trained or ask them to catch the next train.

master slave and calling sir sir and begging culture is rampant in fedeks account in pune under the dd jare.. no professionalism. his sense of in security and marati fanaticism spoiled the entire account.

using local employees to sabotage non marathi leads and managers he set a nasty culture of polarization affecting entire pune centre of syntel.

time to rotate him to another location and another vertical so that the culture improves.

lot of revenue lost due to his free services to client to client, toget promotion feedback from client

Insane approval process for petty things like a printer paper, pen, pencil, notepads.

This is ridiculous.

How will they digitize stuff, if their process are still in stone age.

True. The master slave kind of hierarchical approach has to be looked into.

Managers can no longer be authoritative in their behavior, the need is to involve managers as facilitators, mentor roles.

Moving to senior roles doesn't mean one has to be a dictator and punish team members unnecessary.

Oh then the first one to catch train should be from top DD, DM, VP, etc...

Of course HR staff and PDAC head dont understand a bit of tech and talk about employee cost... optimization...(they dont know even basic math and deserve BPO salaries )

Worse is they decide who is good techies and who is not... (not based on facts but based on stupid DM feedback)
