Thread regarding Saudi Aramco layoffs

What is going on with Aramco going public?

I heard in the news that Aramco will be taking themselves public? Wondering how will the company carry out the OPEC political commitments and still maximize value for stockholders?

I'm a current employee and I don't think I willl buy the stock unless it is offered to employees at a steep discount. I'm not yet convinced the stock will do well after initial sale...

There is zero possibility that taking Aramco public to raise money for a Saudi public fund to invest somewhere else in something else produces value for Aramco shareholders. If Aramco was a good investment then cash raised from IPO would invest in growing the company. It will not.

With that said only an idiot would sell holdings to put his cash in a Saudi welfare fund for benefit of Saudis only so that fund can buy the outside holdings that the idiot who bought Aramco shares sold to invest.
