Does ADP still have a rule in place for people who do work from home you can't have younger children in the house while working at home?
This was a requirement at one time however I think they might have changed the rules.

Google 'IBM and virtual workers.' IBM recently pulled the plug on allowing virtual home based employees. It really does seem to be a new movement to bring people back to offices..
Yes, a lot of companies are phasing out working from home. Years ago, the reasons for allowing people to work from home was employee convenience, no commute, and the company could reduce its office space and save money. It seemed to be a win-win situation for both the employees and the company.
Now there is a pullback because the new rationale is that employees are too distanced from each other and thus it is not possible to collaborate on projects. Maybe so, but that should have been known beforehand. Or is it that companies cannot trust their workers to work hard when they are at home?
A lot of companies not just ADP are starting to phase out homeshored workers...it's happening in businesses all over because there's a lack of value in having employees working 100% from home. There's a disconnection and erosion of company culture by having everyone scattered. With that said, there's no way ADP could monitor you however, if someone complained that they heard a baby always crying whenever there was a call that could be one way to be found out. Any company that allows people to work from home has guidelines as to what they expect and it's reasonable to expect someone to work the same from home as they do in an office. I have kids and I know I don't get as much done with them home as when they are at school and I can focus 100% on my job. With that point made, it's sad that offices are closing and people are being forced to be homeshored and that ending up being a strike against them when they want to advance or stay employed past some unknown deadline. If you are homeshored don't expect to get another job being homeshored since a lot of companies especially technology companies are starting to pull employees back into the office.
I think the homeshore rule no longer exists for the experienced employees. The reason for the offer for homeshoring is to get them through year End. Then they will be let go.
That rule must no longer be in place because I know someone who was offered to work from home recently and the employee has a young child.
Yes, I remember the official wording for working at home for ADP. However, how could ADP really enforce this policy? I and many of my colleagues worked from home. But did we have home inspections done to validate that we were conforming to the policies? No. Was any kind of check ever made that we did not have children, relatives, and friends at home and in proximity to us while we were working? No. Could the company ever really know that we were working every single hour that we were supposed to? No.
In order to be considered for a homeshore work arrangement, you must be able to operate within
your home as you do in the office – i.e. no external distractions, maintain a separate dedicated
workspace which contains the ability to keep ADP material and files safe, secure and away from
non-ADP associates. Homeshored associates are required to adhere to ADP’s Security and Clean
Desk Policies. Associates in a homeshore work arrangement must arrange for child care and/or
elderly care during the workday to allow associates to maintain focus on their work.
If the rule is that you cannot work from home if you have young children or are caring for parents, then what about watching TV or playing video games and other distractions? I think that because ADP could not see what it's home based workers were doing every single minute is what may have caused the company to rethink their work from home policy and start to phase it out.
It is still a rule that you are not to have young children, or caring for others (such as aging parents) while working.
I was never aware of such a rule. Many ADP associates worked from home because they did have young children and it was very convenient.
But now it is all moot. Working from home is now being phased out. In the near future there will be no more working from home any more.
