Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Working at CVS Corporate office

Hello all - I have an opportunity to transfer and start working in the corporate office. How is it to work there? Culture? Mood, etc... The job is for an entry level. I cannot find an employee forum anywhere so got to post here on this website even though it's for layoffs...

Good post @rztm - I agree with everything you noted. I've worked in Corp for about 10 months now

What department are you going to work in? Support departments (legal, finance, accounting etc) are very stressful as they continue to layoff and outsource these departments. Those remaining are expected to do more with less and end up burning out quickly. The non-revenue producing departments are treated very differently from the revenue producing areas (new store ops, marketing, etc). Revenue producing departments receive funding, bonuses, and perks that the support areas don't get. So, if you are working in that area, you might have a good experience. I worked in the finance center and I can honestly say that that building is full of unhappy, stressed-out people.
