Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Data Centers

Rumor is the Data center in North Quincy will be going away with 4 years to save money.

All operations will be done from the Grafton data center.

I was asked to work at the Grafton office during the big storm Jan 2018, and what the hell.

All they offer for parking is a large open lot, no option of having a small covered area.

So after my shift I had to trudge out through the snow and spend 10 minutes in the freezing cold

cleaning off my car.

And forgot the drive from Grafton back to Medford sigh.

Even worse when the automated steel barriers will not go down to let you out of the parking area

You have to wait until the guard or maintenance person can manually get the steel barrier to go

down

After one snow storm if took a coworker of mine 3 hours to drive from Grafton to Quincy on

a Sunday

PS the big Executives always work from home during major snow storms but force the peasants to drive in or else no job

When you have personal drivers or can helipad to anywhere you don't think about commute.

It's devastating to alter so severely where you work. And STT isn't the only one pulling this.

I've said it before and I'll say it again

Layoffs through attrition!

The Grafton data center from what I been told is state of the art, but the break room is tiny.

With the most uncomfortable wooden chairs they used to have in school.

The nearest eating places are a 10 minute drive away.

Be prepared to have your commute time doubled !!!!!!!!!

PS and boy does Grafton get snow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember when they said the data center in North Quincy would be closing around 2005.

And all work would be done from the Grafton Data Center.

State street is being run by clowns who seem to enjoy ruining the lives of the hard working

decent people

I know for a fact a whole division is moving out of channel to JAB and quite possibly more to follow so that would make sense

The leases for three in Boston are or are near up and they will shuffle to channel displacing there

Musical chairs literally and you know how that ends ..,right?
