Thread regarding Microsoft Corp. layoffs

Time to become a "v-"!

I'm seeing a lot of level 65+ managers are doing absolutely nothing, either not show up to work or went out fishing. They have been with MSFT for 10+ years and no way can find another job will pay what they are making now.

Even you survived from last layoffs, MSFT still has over 100k+ FTE, lots room to cut those useless so called leadership team. One level 65 = 3 to 4 College grads.

Time to become a "v-"!

A lot more than L-65. It has been that way for years where I used to see it primarily at the GM level and then their directs, L-65-67's. When I cam in from the outside, I was stunned that many of this set essentially duplicate themselves for almost all of their work and by my estimate, could cut 50% of the staff in the company, reduce the V-, focus on priorities and not miss a beat to the street.

These GM's, 65-67's then spend all of their time politicking, infighting, waring with other groups that kills innovation, quadruples productivity and so on. There is a great article out on Reddit about what would happen if a Microsoft Employee woke up at Google and a Google employee woke up at Microsoft. Go to Reddit and pull it up, it is so hilarious and absolutely true outlining the waste, stupidity, and gridlock that has become microsoft, protected by old, rich, geezers (Men and the Women) that think they know everything. When I got there about around 2002, I was shocked about how much this set really did not know but business, cohesion, integration, how to do simple math or read a P&L although they might be in charge of a couple billion, he he...when I got too exhausted from doing an eye-roll every other second, I decided to go back and join the real world where you can get real things done. The real world holds far less manufactured drama, evil politicking, and spoiled bratty entitled aging babies that you have to deal with on an hourly basis. And HR is a joke and they live in the land of protectionism of the spoiled babies they created. The talented people that know how to do anything usually leave as fast as they come after getting over the shock of "So this is Microsoft?...OMG..."

All work is done by v-. FTEs deliver zilch in name of strategic thinking. You become lazy and out of sync with market that finding jobs outside especially if you have spent a LONG time there becomes tremendously difficult.
