Thread regarding Walgreens Boots Alliance layoffs

This is not right

Every single employee at my Walgreens were forced to take pay cuts ,including the Pharmacists, and put in extra hours (unpaid) to keep their jobs. We are in a shortage area and everything costs more but no one cares. They pile on the work for older employees and try to humiiiate them into quitting. They tell them that they must be 'evaluated' weeky until their 'performance' improves or they will be terminated. Then they document it and put it in their record This all happened after the Boots merger.

You are not alone in this. It is ridiculous and it should not be happening, but other then leaving, not much we can do. And I am well aware that is not an option for majority. Sad and infuriating all around.

Very sad indeed people with great experience let go at a moments notice. WBA has a new vision and not sure it’s the right vision. Stock is way down because if Amazon. Sorry to say because some more layoffs could happen to the little people but glad to see Walgreens executives sweat it out. Company CEO could care less he has his own agenda (money) and it’s not for the people - the employees or the customers. They are not an American Pharmacy. The majority stock holder is the CEO and he pays no taxes and lives in Monacco. He owns Boots Drug Stores in London, Switzerland, etc....

Very true Walgreens was a very different company. I do blame Boots. It’s run by people that live inside of the USA. They believe that they do things better smdcdar more intelligent then the people in the USA. The CEO is from abroad and is married but does have a significant other that works with him side by side. He bought her company but she was lucky she got him so she was not forced out of the business. This CEO is only interested in the numbers and only employs or promotes Yes Men. A Yes Man is someone who has no backbone, does not go against the CEO. Most employees are unhappy and it’s a very stressful atmosphere. Everyone is replaceable at a moments notice. This CEO lives in Monacco so he does not pay taxes. His goal was to be st the top of the retail drug change in the USA. If Amazon comes through I suspect Mr Pessina will sell Walgreens. The stock is taking a nose dive and that is unacceptable to Mr Pessina. Karma does exist and ex employees of Walgreens are getting their wish. This man has single handily destroyed a great drug store, an American institution with his backstabbing ways of doing business here in the states.

Went from one of the best companies to work for to one of the worst. It wasn't just the boots thing, the chopping block has been out since the Doe era.
