Loyalty does not go both ways

People do quit HPE to go to where the grass is greener, I have seen it...

Also, there's a lot more loyalty (actually wanting and trying to do a good job for customers especially, and then also for the stockholders) flowing from employees, than there has been, flowing from greedy, selfish, and arrogantly egotistical upper management!

Loyalty is fine, yes, but the devil is in the details, as usual... From whom, to whom, and for what purpose? I would not want to spread finely ground plutonium dust around the planet, even if it somehow helped a few stockholders here and there...

This is true, @O8XA5xI-1via. HP has a lot of employees who will go out of their way to help both the customers and the company. They get zilch in return, though.

@Oddu081-ahgr - I'm not sure who, in this thread, you comment is directed against.

We've seen HR shills, execs, and offshore employees respond unkindly. We've also seen the ambiguous posts attacking people at specific locations (the posts lack context as to whether they are directed at managers or team members). That's all chaff, and should be ignored.

I left the company on my own terms. The company I work for now is quite different from HP/HPE, and quite an effort is made to make us happy. I can also say that my company (Financial sector) is doing quite well, in large part to the efforts of its employees. Companies do not have to operate like HP to succeed, and I think the spiraling decline of HP/HPE/DXC are indicative that treating employees like crap, bait-and-switching customers by replacing resources with "low cost" resources instead of the talented, experienced that won the contracts is the cause.

I was extremely loyal, to the end, to HP/HPE. They certainly failed me, and in light of my experience outside of that toxic culture, I see the grass is truly greener on the other side. Indeed, there isn't even grass at HPE... only bitter sands and tumbleweeds. I stay in touch with my old teammates, because we were more than just co-workers, we were friends and respected each other. Many have left... some have been forced out by bean counting, short-sighted executives.

You aren't being disloyal in seeking better employment. You owe it to yourself and your family to do better. You'll finally have an opportunity to be happy at work.

Hell, it does not and has not gone both ways.

Let's set matters straight.

A number of years ago the seriousness of the WFR's became apparent to all with half a brain cell.

The so obvious corruption of the HP top management was right in front of everyone's eyes but ..

You did not give a damn about your fellow employees.

You went home and told the family things were going to get rough but you only cared about you and your family.

You slammed the long time HP employees that had been with HP stating we were lazy and non-motivated yet...

FYI -- "WE" truly means all of us together (old and younger). (remember that at the end)

Interestingly, "WE" were the ones that kept the contracts renewed. "WE" were the ones, not the managers, that kept the customers up and running 24/7.

"WE" were the one that even though we worked from home, we we worked from 5:00 AM till 5:00 PM standard hours and then always on call to answer the problem calls way into the 10-11 o'clock evening call.. all because you didn't have the knowledge nor the experience to handle it. You thanked us at that time.

The next day after "we "saved the day" you went back to how you were the experts and we were the lazy techs.

All you had to do was ignore your selfish selves and promote a "blue flu" outage a number of times against HP management. This blood bath against all HP employees could have been stopped in its tracks, regardless of non-union, but instead you attacked your own employee friends (exactly what the management wanted you to do).

Now if you look deep enough into the issue, you find all company top managements are doing the same damn thing as you see your jobs go over seas.

...and you ask about loyalty????????????

Quit your crying, complaining, whining, and questioning....

You were the problem.

You could have stopped it but you cared only about your selfish selves. regardless of what you want to cry out individually, history will point our the selfishness and the "me" generation thinking that that could have prevented this but instead cared more about your pitiful little family self.

That is the real truth yet your selfishness cannot handle the real truth.

How many company names do you fall under now??

Oddu081-1ofw, not unique to HP, but extremely prevalent with lack of ownership at the management tier.. being a technology professional, I have been in various technology sectors management capacity in the past 15 plus years.. the leadership/management relationship with employees is one of the worst I have ever witnessed .. sadly in this organization..
