Should I cancel it? Sounds like Staples isn't the place to be at the moment.

An Account Executive position, assuming it's with contract and commercial, is a somewhat safe bet. Contract is making money, unlike retail, so your job should be somewhat secure come next February, the new fiscal year after the merger completes.
I say go for it. Just know that those types of positions usually have a ton of changes every year regarding pay/commission, accounts etc
She rescheduled and confirmed for today. So, I'll listen. My current company is super toxic, not sure if any place could be worse.
Yes it's for the best, hopefully you have other prospects. Staples is a toxic culture and who knows how it's going to turn out with Sycamore.
Never got a call or response from email, actually the 2nd time this recruiter has failed to follow through.
Sounds like it's probably for the best.
It can't hurt to at least take the interview, for practice
wrong. one thing I learned over the past ten years is to manage negativity. dozens of low-percentage, negative interviews eventually wear you down and depress you. conserve your energy for positive, high-percentage effort.
It can't hurt to at least take the interview, for practice. I would place any offer from Staples at the bottom of the pile though. It is truly a poorly run and toxic company, and that's without having to consider any changes Sycamore will make. As others have posted, if you do take the job, don't get comfortable, you will likely either be forced out or want to get out by years end.
Don't bother... Sycamore partners already has their own account executives in place. Everything attached to retail will be all handled through the parent company Sycamore partners. If you take the job I imagine, you will be looking for a new job in less than 6 months.
