Yes, Lisa did mention that increasing class size was part of the strategy of getting to profitability. I wonder if that's true of Chamberlain. If it is, that strategy will backfire, with lower pass rates.

The entire ship is sinking! I CANNOT wait. What a scam this place is.
the whole point of "Devry Tech" is to hide the fact that they wanted to cut their tuition and offset that cut by cutting down on giving out "scholarships". the stupid "Tech Path" degree programs are being sold at lower price point and the only difference between the regular degree program and "Tech Path" is that in "Tech Path" people get to record audio of their discussion posts instead of going through the trouble of writing those gems. the new p2d2 paradigm.
that was a quite a slip. whoever told them that increasing max. student limit in online classes will bring big bucks back to devry is a moron.
Other institutions are usually sacrificed for CCN - their services suffer because staff usually has to work on CCN projects and processes first. It leaves little doubt as to who is seen as the golden child among the schools. Well, until it stops making money.
Not sure how they maintain physical locations with only 5 classes per session...or less.
This won't work at Chamberlain, because students have to pass the NCLEX.
Edging ever closer to just being a diploma mill....an overpriced diploma mill
It is hard to increase class size if enrollments plummet. How are they going to increase class size? Just have class once per year? Does the manager really play any role?
No it will not backfire, managers will simply put more pressure on instructors to pass students through. Pass rates will actually increase. If an adjunct instructor fails even one student the instructor will simply not be given any more classes. Self-respecting instructors will not work full-time for less than minimum wage, and therefore will not provide realistic grades on assignments. The message is loud and clear: DeVry provides substandard education, cheats its students, and abuses its instructors.
