Thread regarding Charter Communications Inc. layoffs

It's not that bad as some want to present it

OK, there are occasional layoffs in random groups and that happens, but given that Charter has over 100K employees puts us in a different situation. When you have 100K folks there will always be some skills that you do not need and skills that you need. So you let folks with non-relevant skills go, while you hire new skills. So, this is how it works.

I spent 8 years with Charter and I liked it here. Back in 2011 my dpt had some cuts but I survived. I can tell you layoffs were not fun.

I hope things turn around quickly.

Dude, you must be out of Colorado, cuz you'd have to be smoking something to say Charter isn't an awful company...

Everyone that I know who has relocated for this company has indicated how F'd up it is. They look forward to the time when their relocation repayments drop to a manageable level and/or to the level where can walk away from their LTIs. Yes, I know most of the company doesn't have the concept of LTIs, long term incentives...

The end of the year can't come quick enough for a number of us...

True - also some managers are just super-micromanagers - the company encourages this - they want to be in details - it can be super annoying. Oh, well...
