What kind of language is - OMG you just laid off 130 people and you are calling it optimizing operations. What a bunch of snobby a--holes run this place, they do not care about anyone except their bank accounts

I was a manager laid of over 130% to goal during my time as DSM, and missed target once but my teams still led the office in overall GP. They cut me because I looked for ways to innovate, put my employees first and was too transparent I guess. Raved reviews and then they fired me on PTO at 1am in my $600 ryokan in Japan. It was pretty rusthless and gut wrenching. I recieved over 50 contacts reaching out in shock. Since my departure, one other top manager left, 3 top reps making more than us, a bunch of others that are middle tier, and the fires the best DSM KPI wise. Weird how her and I were the only ones smoking cigarettes, speaking our minds and had past employees sue Groupon which we assisted in the cases with. Then we were fired...no warning. Very sad year from it. Not sure how more loyal and much love you can have for a company, be top in results constantly, and find the exit unless I made to much or it was a HR/polia thing. Groupon is on a path for death. Rich Williams is in dire need and desire to show a profit and cutting jobs is the easiest way. I bet you they get bought out for around 2 billion by alibaba or google. Upper management had some great people like Daren, Pete, Bob L and Gene. Ever since, it's been a demoralizing place to work. I think their next hire might be a robot.
What about Finance - do they plan to lay us off?
The company will fold within next 12 months. Bits and pieces will remain but the game is over for us.
