Serial S-xual Predator and the culture of acceptance

Individuals risk being seen as "just disgruntled" and there is a certain level of acceptance and tolerance of the social media venue as a method of airing unaddressed complaints about their employers. Unfortunately, employees airing of such complaints, concerns and facts are overlooked shrugged off as merely venting or rumors of topics fitting for c---tail party chatter. Social media is and can be an "equalizer" of sorts because even though those disgruntled and minimized employees are venting revelations of the real corporate culture, they usually do so to no avail. The venting does however allow for some personal satisfaction and the glimmer of hope that those seeking employment with higher ethics, morals and expectations enter their next employment with caution and full knowledge of the what the real culture is because lets face it "where there is smoke there is fire." AFLAC is no different in many aspects of corporations in America with its share of greedy, glamorous and just plain out gro-rrific gutter hugging individuals. You know the unsavory, unethical type that would put a price tag on their own mother ---- whoops - stop - back-up --- what I meant to say is not a price tag on their mother but a price tag on yours or mine or your daughter, sister or wife. Yes, no smoke and mirrors just a ragging fire of details similar to that of Penn State, Fox News and even the Catholic Church this company has its history founded in s-xual scandal that would parallel any of these others. It had and still has its own serial s-xual predator only he no longer walks the floors of the ivory tower. He is out there mingling as he did years ago in the 1980's with unsuspecting people and even talking to his victims. It is a culture of acceptance. The tainted unethical immoral foundations similar that of Penn State -- turn a blind eye -- a don't tell atmosphere to maintain a facade an image -- "The Brand" -- by hiding the truth. Its' a sell out your soul to the devil -- for the bottom line kind of company. The shareholders are number one as Mr. Cheves once said in his Ledger Enquirer interview. It's all about the bottom line - not the american family.

Well there is no Tulane Law Student being assisted by a Washington Herald reporter. However, much like the fictional character Darbe Shaw, there are real life criminals with aiders and abettors and more than that there are real life victims (plural) -- victims who were unknowingly victimized again -- except for one that like Darbe Shaw -- has figured it out. For the culture of the company, you need not look much further than an expensive holiday commercial - advertising the culture at the tune of an estimated $4.5 MILLION shareholder dollars. A 30 second dialog of a surgeon with gestures and expressions that are demeaning and disrespectful to a patient. Gestures and dialog that may appear comical to some, however egregious to victims and families. Conduct crossing the patient-physician boundary showing a vulnerable patient in medical need being ridiculed by a surgeon with her unsavory gesture for the patient to be sedated as she manipulates his lips and laughs at him with the co-conspirator AFLAC duck watching. Callous, offensive with disregard to the medical profession but more importantly is a reminder to victims and families of this community. A multitude of moral and ethical standards of conduct violated - being ridiculed in a ad paid for by an insurance company and aired to approximately 110 MILLION viewers. A mockery of the victims, violating public trust - more concerned with its bottom line, ignoring the cry of its victims. (recommend viewing the Super Bowl ad 2017)
