Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

Has Anything Really Changed?

Has anyone seen any big change since we were owned by CCi ? We still recruit the same type of students. We still have terrible placement rates, and in some cases worse. Students are still defaulting on their loans. We still push students into signing up for additional classes they don't need. Curriculum and testing is at the 5th grade level.

Believe me, ACCSC is fairly easy to fool. When it was time for an audit by ACCSC we would spend about 2 weeks putting everything in order, changing dates, fudging instructor training, falsifying records and documents and making everything look professional and legitimate. There were a lot of people working overtime running printers and changing numbers. It was a lot of work but we were always able to pull the wool over their eyes.

Word out of Denver is that the Henderson Nv location, Everest now alterius, the new Ponzi Scheme Name, didn't pass the nursing board evaluation, and the nursing program is going to be placed on some sort of performance plan, meaning the program is sub-par with negative results. Meanwhile the CCI mentality of FInancial Aid packaging anyone who happens to walk in the front doors is alive and well. The unsuspecting walk -in doesn't even know what's happening as they are being connived, packaged, and even enrolled if they can get financial aid.

Is this what ACCSC accreditation means to our education system? Are they just another bought and paid for accreditation, like ACICS?

This isn't what our education system should be... but it seems the federal government is ok with it...as long as they get their cut.

5opt - thanks for the corruption summary. It seems to be a legitimate statement about the entire mess with these career schools. Leave it to government and banking cronies to help themselves to the federal cookie jar. ten billion dollars is a pretty decent payoff.

His name is DePodesta, different guy. John Podesta and his brother are the lobbying company for ECMC and have deep ties with the democrats, especially Clinton and Obama. John Podesta was personally detrimental in Obama and his business crushing team of socialists, Durbin, Harris and those people that put the squeeze on Corinthian Colleges forcing the sell to ECMC for pennies. There was millions of dollars in payoff kick-backs made to the Clinton Foundation, the Clinton Campaign, John Podesta and the Obama Library by ECMC. The real kicker was the investment in the schools and all the payoff cash came indirectly from the American taxpayers through the Department of Education to ECMC. The DOE gave ECMC and other student loan guarantors billions of dollars in front money for these companies to help students in loan default but never required these companies to file reports on where and how these billions are used. ECM's gift from the DOE was close to TEN BILLION DOLLARS. Funny how Obama didn't want investers making money off of for-profit education, but it was perfectly fine for politicians and their buddies to dupe the taxpayers for hundreds of billions.

If the goal is to loose money.......... Zenith certainly selected the right lady to head up admissions at Everest! Between her incompetence, the driving of Wyotech into the ground by the admissions leadership team they put together and the closing of online - it won't be long now.

3zrv - CCi fleeced their investors and they sold employee stock, which was the rage coming out of the 90s into the new millennium. All of the employees who purchase thousands upon thousands of dollars of their earnings all the while believing in a company that was spending money like there was no tomorrow. And as far as the board of directors (Podesta is he dictator, there is no 'real' board; everybody at ECMC and Zenith shake in their collective boots if Podesta raises his hand) spending any profits from the schools: well, there is no profit and they don't intend for there to ever be any profit. Obama set his buddy up (Podesta) before leaving office. It would be interesting to know when Obama and Podesta see their payoff and what it will be. There is nothing in this country that isn't controlled by the government or the banking system.

The only real change is whose money is backing the schools. Under CCi it was investors that put money into the schools, under Zenith it was the federal government investing the tax payers money into the schools and the tax payers get absolutely no return on their investment. Any profits are taken by the executive board and losses are charged to the tax payers.

2bjw, you have a strange sense for satisfaction. CCi and Zenith leaders not in jail isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for the schools. We should all be looking at student outcomes. Last I saw them it's nothing to brag about.

Of course not! This school was designed from the beginning to fleece money from taxpayers and dumb students who don't know any better. To make the shareholders and employees richer. They never cared and still don't that their degrees were worthless. As PT Barnum said, "there's a s---er born every minute" Many go to Everest.

The biggest change I've seen is that we are doing most of the same crappy things but less effectively. We have 1/4 of the students with the same or worse outcomes. PT, MO and others talk a good game but I see almost no difference with CCI leadership except that they were much better at it. I'm ready for my severance check to coincide with our closing.
