Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

media attention

None of this matters if it stays on this site!

All big news networks want a story

What good does it do (now) to co tinue posting on this site and not bring it to the attention of the media?

There are enough posting on here.

Find media that is willing to take a look at this site, do the work, make the story.

If all we do is chatter amongst ourselves about "what has happened or what is coming" then we have done nothing.

Its like being in a boat and rowing toward the waterfall that everyone talks about.

Call the media conglomerates and ask to be anonymous at first because of fear of backlash.

The idea is not the media or to get a story out there because this company is part of them and will just lie to get by. Altice Finacial statements are the key and have been since we went public because they want to sell a bullish company that is not. Every dollar they spend on union busting count against the company even if we vote yes or no, which is their fault because they created the fear. Moving people who have fear and doubt within them is easy and can be a costly move for Altice forcing them to create a better work place. More people calling unions the better; more money spent in union battles creates a bearish company for the world to see even the media. In the business world, everyone has a place to make a difference, so you pick-- run or fight; just remember there scared too.

The reason you won't see any of this in the media is simply because Altice pays the media for content. How much have you seen on the strike in Chartervision? Maybe a snippet here or there but nothing like you would see if the MTA went on strike. We basically run the media so why would the media make highlight whats wrong in a company if it isn't impacting the mass population? It is simply our job to hang on and work through the changes or find another job. Will things work out in the long run and this company be the next big thing in the tech industry? I simply don't know but what I can do is my day to day job and try and work my way through changes and better myself. Are things different? Sure they are different but I understand management and the way companies work. Can I make this a long term career? I am certain I can as long as the company doesn't fail. Will I make the most money I could possibly make? Probably not but that's why I keep my resume out there and am taking every opportunity that I get within the company. Quit whining if you don't like what you have go out and look for better. If you are sitting in your field service truck complaining about not being able to do a job because its an hour or so from the end of your shift because you just want to get home well then maybe this was never the job for you. Stop being content and just getting through your day. Step up either within the company or get your resume out there. It is what it is we can't change it. The company can do what they want does it s--- when they take things away...yeah it does but guess what....I still have my house, my car, and am able to provide for my family.

Please call the media yourself. Just shut about about it. They won't care anyway

You have no idea what it takes to get media involved with anything. A bunch of employees complaining about how they're treated is not news.
