that's how the layoffs will go now, too, an anonymous auto-generated "report" at 3am to your personal email so there's nobody you can yell at.

No conference call, but the report will issue August 24.

I know. They did the same thing 2-3 years ago at the shareholders meeting. A vote for/against payout of exec bonuses went decidedly against them, yet the board still paid them. Why bother with a vote?

I'm sick and tired of these clowns being rewarded for FAILURE!!!!!! At the same time rank and file employees will likely not even get severance from Staples or whatever entity buys retail.

Voting no on the parachute does nothing. Whether it's approved or not, it's "on a nonbinding advisory basis". Every shareholder could vote no on that one and they can and will still get paid out.

Staples is now functioning as a private company and does not have to disclose its failures.

No conference call due to the pending merger??? I call BS, they held conference calls during the OD courtship. This is going to be an ugly earning release. They don't want to face the analysts, plain and simple.

Earnings announcement will be the 24th. No conf call scheduled due to buyout. Shiraz already has one foot out of the door. Likely talking to Bain to seek a consulting position.

Vote No on the parachute vote

The earnings call was scheduled, is there any documentation or announcement that it was cancelled and they are acting as if they are already private?

That's not right, they are still public as there is no vote on the buyout yet and there will be lawsuits to deal with.

Wonder what accounting dishonesty is happening as we speak?

I read that were expected to be 19% down from Q2 in 2016.

5pm and no news. I'm betting they push it until Friday after the bell.

Looks like it's going to later than normal. Must be horrendous results and they have to sugar coat and tap dance around it.
