Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

November 1st

In a Nimble virtual town hall today, it was mentioned that HPE transformation is expected "to be completed by November 1st" and while Nimble had a strong quarter, a couple of compromises need to made.

To me that means WFR are gonna hit hard by then. Good luck everyone!

What I learned working for hp and then hpe before i was wfr'd.

Because I was never treated with respect I learned to treat my people with respect.

Because hp leadership never valued my input I learned to value the input of my team.

Because the hp culture is filled with dysfunctional parasites I learned to spot and how to deal with dysfunctional parasites in my new organization;

when hp let me go I was thrilled and the month they wfr'd me i was approached with another opportunity in a larger growing organization that is thriving. Yes we have issues as well but i took the helm of a global organization and i'm happy to say thank you to hp/hpe for the painful but very real life and business lessons you taught me... because believe it or not you made me a better human being, manager, and leader.... always focus on the teaching moments in life... if you're being mistreated by your organization move on or at least learn from the experience how to treat others... the golden rule...

This was the wake up call? Where have you been? Anyone still working there at this point has no one to blame but themselves.

Speaking of “compromises”, I can’t help but think of recently-deceased Mr. “Rhinestone Cowboy”, Glen Campbell… Especially the lines about…

“There's been a load of compromisin'

On the road to my horizon …”

To see the original lyrics, search for “rhinestone cowboy lyrics” in quotes, of course…

Anyway, in honor of both Glen Campbell, and the endlessly insatiable greed of Queen-Bee Meg, I have “channelled” Glen to help me re-write his lyrics, for Meg specifically…

I’ve been walking the greed-walk for so long,

Singin’ the same old song…

I know every dirty crony-capitalistic trick,

The Donald even helps me with my shtick,

And employees get washed away like the sun and the rain

There's been a load of compromisin'

On the road to my horizon

But I’m gonna be where the power is shinin’ on me!

Like a slimestone cowgirl

Riding out on the H-1B indentured servants!

Like a slimestone cowgirl

Giving bribes to politicians that I don’t even know

And favors pouring in from D.C.!

Well, I really don’t mind my fat pay,

Just don’t note it too much, I do pray,

Yes, I’ll take down all that I can get,

You laid-off people, don’t you fret!

Like a slimestone cowgirl

Riding out on the H-1B indentured servants…

Compromises, you say?

Ideally, HPE would have the millions of dollars needed to pay all of their employees, AND the trillions of dollars needed to pay Meg Her bonuses, so yes, a compromise is made, and so the employees are sacrificed, that Meg's bonuses may be preserved!

Ideally, there would be enough HPE resources to develop good new products, AND serve customers needs (for support, etc.), AND test new products VERY thoroughly, so as to NOT drop vitally critical functions, AND, of course, to pay Meg Her bonuses, so yes, compromises are made; All the former are neglected, but the latter is preserved!

Any other "compromises" come to mind?
