No, it is not like RC planes.

RC plane is something you control. Drone flys alone, so you have no fun of driving it. You actually cant do much with all these assists, regulations and "safety"... you just look stupid with wrong toy you spent lot of money on it.

Most of owners will realize it soon and then Intel will realize how wrongly spend money was these acquisitions.

Except, it is actually true that one group was doing an IoT investment with McDonalds and a big consultant. So, bruh is covered, whether she knows it or not.

Drones are already toast - FAA rules and market saturation with too few people buying. It's like a hobby remote-controlled aircraft - how many people actually have one?

Intel will never succeed in IoT - they don't have the stomach or the will to compete in the small-CPU arena with ARM. Intel has already killed Quark, Curie, Edison, SoFIA, Broxton, etc... They've changed their tune to focus on info gateways for IoT applications, but they sold McAfee and have s---ed the life out of WRS, so all their software expertise is... toast.

Actually, while this is from Dec 2016, it's a pretty decent read. Looking back at it now, one realizes that VR is toast. So, the only other new thing really going at Intel is autonomous vehicles.

Place your bets!
