Thread regarding AFLAC layoffs

Layoffs are unnecessary

Those that cover up the truth and help those high powered execs take advantage of the rest of us are just as guilty and unethical as the ones they cover for. I hope they lose sleep over the way they treat human beings as property to be exploited for their financial gain, then deposed of like garbage when a cheaper way to get even richer presents itself. Seriously...when do they reach the point of saying "I have enough...I am satisfied with my multi-billion dollar bank account." It is complete BS for anyone to say "this is just business." This company touts the fact that they are family owned and based on family principles. The truth is they are driven by pure greed with no regard for the low profile laborers who helped them reach that millionaire/billionaire status. Even though all of the execs are financially secure for the rest of their lives, they are willing to take the salaries of those of us barely supporting our families to make themselves even richer.

And we all know that the company is not in financial trouble...simply based on the quarterly earnings reports and press releases. The #aflaclayoffs might be more understandable if the company were taking drastic measures to save the company. But that simply isn't the case. The company decided to lay people off as a result of greed.

Trust me, none of the execs are losing sleep. They pride themselves on their smoke and mirrors routine. The EAW event at the civic center is a joke. The general counsel wearing a ball gown while she fluffs herself up. I have been in rooms with some of these execs when they have discussed their plans for layoffs--and how "just move them to the call center" is a common way to avoid saying "layoff."
