It was never said that ACT was about reducing the workforce. ACT was about refocussing Intel, away from the shrinking PC market, away from being dependent on Moore's Law and towards new growth markets.
It's funny - when there are massive layoffs, you'd think people would listen to what the management says about these layoffs.
That was an acquisition that focused on AI I think
