Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

Be Serious With Yourself

Zenith employees, I hope you realize that you work for a totally corrupt company that preys on students from low-income areas. These students think that a degree from Everest is the same as a degree from University of Florida. They don't know that Everest degrees are WORTHLESS. They spend over $30,000 for an Associates degree that might get them an entry-level job that doesn't even require a degree. These students think that once they earn their degree from Everest, they are going to get a high paying job and get out of the ghetto or trailer park. Not only is a degree from Everest worthless, but the students are not getting educated. I've seen students who cannot even write a complete sentence who got an A in English Composition. The instructors are pressured to pass students just so Everest can keep getting their money.

I don't think that all Zenith employees are bad people. I know most of you are just trying to make ends meet, but I hope you realize that the company you work for is a criminal organization that is not going to exist for much longer. I suspect that most of you agree with me, but there are still a few idiots who are oblivious to this BS and act like they are actually helping students get an education. If you are helping a student succeed at Everest, you are helping them fail at life.

I cant agree with the original post. There ARE some instructors who ARE actually helping students. There is more to educating students than just sentence structure and grades. Some of the students are actually learning a trade and will get out of the "Ghetto" or "Trailer Park". You can not make blanket statements like that about the people who work here. Does the whole situation s---? Absolutely. Is there room for improvement? Without a doubt. But to say that we are just on a free ride or cash cow or whatever..... Some of the instructors are putting in 13 and 14 hour days 5 days a week. Teach 2 classes a day. Hold tutoring 3 and 4 days a week. What about us? Are we just here for the check. Believe me when I tell you I did the math. For the hours that I put in and the amount of work I do, that doesnt even fall into the category of "other duties as assigned", Im getting shorted $10 per hour. Now if this is just a cash cow, where is my money.

Where the issue really is, is with corporate. How is corporate handing out all these "mandates" about how to retain students and how to handle our students etc... How about corporate come actually visit the the classrooms and not just the campus. How about they actually talk to the instructors instead of sending out a generic survey. I bet the corp. people have never so much as even taught bible study or vacation bible school class, not to mention and actual class of higher education.

While the teacher "s---" and career services "s---", lets talk about where the issue is. Zenith is supposed to be about quality of quantity. But we are still "admitting" the same type of student. Where is the accountability. Look, if I take piece of SH*T and I polish it up real good. Put a pretty bow on it. Wrap in up in nice paper and give it to you, what did i just give you?

Now Run Tell That!!!!!!!!!

-9eyk. Look at the bright side, you are essentially being paid to do nothing by the hardworking taxpayers of America. Sleep well.

I would continue to cash that pay check. Assuming its the most money you have ever made for not actually having a skill. Sleep well and stay in good health my friend.

There is no doubt, that in the real world it is: "better no degree, than an Everest degree."

I concur with -1rbx. My company hires hundreds of medical techs every year. We do NOT hire anyone from Everest. We once did, but had too many bad experiences. We either hire credentialed people from quality schools or we hire untrained, high potential people and train them internally and/or with partner schools. My advice to potential Everest students: don't do it!

One of the best explanations of the truth about this "school" I have read on this board. Because they prey on stupid/ignorant people, these people that sign up to become students don't understand that the degree is worthless, most likely less than worthless, as when an employer sees it, they realize you tried to get a bozo degree to placate them. For me, when I hire, it would be best not to show me one of these worthless degrees and just tell me you are going to try and attend a state college in the future. I would respect that.

I cannot believe some of the students I did have in class, did not attend a real college. They could have, but were convinced this degree had value. I constantly felt I should tell them to quit and go to a real college, but I think they would have not believed me. It is like the people at Scientology, they just won't believe the truth and would rather be sheeple. I remember my Assistant Dean was selling clothes at a retail outlet before she was hired as the assistant dean. She had no skills to be in that position, but had friends working there. The school is full of these women that have no real experience in the area, but are all friends who constantly protect their positions.

Very comfortable. Just like with CCi, I'm gonna ride this cash cow as long as I can. I look at it this way, if I quit they'll just hire someone at a lower wage to take my place. Like I said, there's no one around here paying that kind of money so why would I leave.

It's not Everest any longer. And yes, I'm happy to cash a huge paycheck every two weeks and couldn't care less where the money comes from. Where else can you get paid $87,000 a year for doing practically nothing.
