Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

New CEO Said He Is a HAS-BEEN!!!

So I found it interesting that our CEO SM said in the meeting last week that he was a Has-Been. I couldn't believe my ears so I even watched the recorded video broadcast to make sure I heard it right and sure enough he said it twice that he is a Has-Been. I understand what he was trying to do....you know make it sound like he was relaying on the strength of others but in the wake of what just happened it sounded like a cope-out....it was a great way to not take any accountability on the 900 that we lost. And he never answered how he was going to boast morale......his answered really killed morale if you ask me. Did anyone not prep him? Did he not think that this would come up? I guess he is so used to running those 100 mile marathons for he sure ran from this question. Thoughts??

Sabre as a company s---s. It is matter of time before they are forced to shut down or Amadeus taking over at throwaway price :)

Sam was a great leader and even a very approachable person in the hallways. As someone that's not in management that says a lot. My last day is September 1st if I don't find something else and it's really hard to get excited about staying knowing more cuts are coming.

All of you folks still working for the company and STILL bad-mouthing it - give your two-week notice on Monday and quit. You obviously hate the company and don't like working here. You are not helping to make the company better. Just quit - go somewhere else and be happy. Or don't be happy, but just go.

Sabre stock is down 30.5% in the past 52 weeks and 25.8% YTD.

The market sees all and hears all.

Since stocks are the major component of executive compensation and the only way to boost the stock is layoffs, expect another round of cuts soon

New products and customers are no longer possibilities for Sabre anymore. It is going to be death by a thousand cuts for Sabre from here on

I agree, his comments didn't have much uplift and he got nothing but softball questions, we really needed more. I do think he has begun a good house cleaning at the executive level, although at the working level I see some good people who were let go because they were in the wrong place. I thought his h as been statement referred to his technical knowledge, which unfortunately describes a lot of Sabre management, marketing and senior tech folks.

The only thing execs care about is their bonus. 900 or 9000 if they get paid they don't care!

I went too; not to believe or trust what was going to be said but to see how they would spin in and I agree with the first post to the fact that he was not prep and did awful. Long are the days of good leaders like SG who could speak to us the Employees with respect.

If you didn't like what he had to say then you should have Boycotted The Lies.
