Totally agree with @4xac. Google guy was not saying women are less biologically skilled for engineering. He was just saying they are less attracted to that kind of subject matter because of biological and psychological reasons, which is very true. Doesn't mean there are no good female engineers, just that their numbers are way fewer than men. Of course there's a social component to it too. But there's also research in evolutionary biology/psychology that is undeniable. Denying either of those components makes you pander to the ideologues.
That doesn't sound like a scientific biological difference, but actually different groups of ppl spending more or less time learning a subject that interests them. My thoughts are that through holistic admissions and parents reading about engineers 100k salaries in Forbes lists, there are too many engineering students who are more interested in the money.
The whole thing is so stupid, it's like people ignore everything they've seen their whole lives in favor of an obviously false narrative.
More men are bigger nerds than women. Period. Literally experienced by every person in tech. You are lying if you say otherwise. For every woman sitting home in their spare time writing slicer algorithms for 3d printers there are 100 dweebs dudes. For every woman buidling a robot in her basement there are 100 nerd dweeb dudes doing it.
There are plenty of very good technical women but they are far fewer in number than men. If you disagree you are calling your own eyes liars.

In Google at least they have reasonably high hiring variable criteria, with some preference to by command let underrepresented get hired. Out of that, we get this case, of someone actually trying to intellectually and openly voice it out.
In Intel, from the new faces that can be seen, the method to fill in diversity quotas is more like "hire all my tribal buddies and their female relatives". Yet, out of this much worse situation in Intel, there was no voice heard loud yet.

When all is said and done, what Google/Intel/others are doing is the logical reaction to the halt of government-driven affirmative action -- shame the companies directly into hiring people from demographic groups that vote Democrat, and also do it from within by SJWs getting hired into positions that make it happen. None of this is surprising, but it is a horrible shame.
I will no longer use the Google browser, nor will I sign up to use any of their new products. There needs to be a backlash where in response to this behavior.

Funny how some sources claim he was a senior software engineer while others claim he had just four years of software development experience with a PhD in a non-tech field (ironically enough). Just goes to show how people are trying to build a legend around him already.

Dark day for freedom of speech.
The guy has been named and publicly shamed, probably blacklisted from all major (liberal) companies in the Valley. Shame on Google for how they handled this, but it's no surprise coming from a known feminazi like D.B. Google quickly going the Intel way in terms of "diversity" and intolerance.
Google dude is being treated as a heretic and will pay a steep price. Eventually he may find redemption. Maybe next century. Kind of like Galileo and the catholic church we will have to hope the future brings more tolerance and wisdom.

Diversity and BKs quota has made all parts of the organization do simply bad things. That combined with the strategic and execution failures means more ACTs are certain
I have seen first hand HR and Intel Legal employing gestapo and stazi tactics to control thought, prop up incompetent management, and root out dissenters.
Gender and diversity are only one area where thought criminals are subjected to punishment and corporate-sponsored harassment and bullying. It happens in the technical arenas also.
What happens now in these companies (google/ Intel) is the same hive-mind reminiscent of the khmer-rouge. He will be made an example of.

I think pro basketball and football as well as collegiant teams like USC or Alabama football teams need to adopt diversity. The value of having Asian and Indian men is far greater than assembly of the best talent.
How laughable a premise is that, same is the delusionanry belief that inclusion of people less skilled will bring greater success to a business. Don't get me wrong their are women, blacks and hispanics that are good as Asians or Indians or whites, but to think they need to be represented at the larger demographics will bring greater good to the business is laughable. Maybe on the surface look more politically and socially correct, but at the detriment of competitiveness and success.

Yeah...Thank God the Justice Dept is investigating affirmative action...it's long enough people get unfairly discriminated against. Finally, engineering admissions will be given to more people that deserve it based on merit.... Asians and Indians.
