Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Looking at performance

Those that have been around a while know what 'looking at performance' means. It means tightening the criteria even more than what it already is. You have to walk on water just to be in the middle band of the performance curve. Anything less, you get put on the lower band and that is the pool from which the next graduating class will be selected.

True, @OzGWz9X-1jti. The criteria has become ridiculous, and it has no bases in reality. It is more than obvious that HPE's only goal is to create false justifications for more layoffs without risking being sued.

A lot of lawyers to tackle litigation, huh? Well, once everyone is gone, they'll get laid off. Then those doing the layoff will in turn get laid off, but then you got to have someone around to turn the lights out.

Performance review is just a formality. Massive WFRs happening now at DXC can care or less about your performance ratings.

How they work? HR indentified a list of workers over certain age (maybe 45?) and list of workers with higher salary range. Mid tier managers are asked to decide the "targets". This process has been used over and over again.. This organization has more lawyers ready to tackle any letigation.. they can drag you through the mud to wear you out... best approach get out when you can ...

I suspect there are many-many laid-off ex-employees who'd have been happy to take a lower-paying job (lower pay such as the youngsters get, when the youngsters replace the oldsters). But laid-off people are blacklisted, of course... And HPE top management is entirely too un-creative, to ever consider such a radical idea as to selectively cut pay (or rescind the "blacklisting" policy, to the same ends).

Blacklisting policies are inherently age-discriminatory, by the way, since a "fresh grad" has NO chance to have been laid off and black-listed forever... The longer you work, the older you get, the greater your chance of getting blacklisted, sooner or later... Age discrimination, hello?!?!?!

Everyone is expendable and no one walks on water except Jesus. The more you make the more chance you are to get the axe besides the low performers. HPP cash will keep them going.
