Laid off in 2015. Sold my home for $38K less than I purchased it for two years previously. At the time it didn't feel "lucky" to me at the time, but I have to agree, we were very fortunate. At least our home sold and I was able to obtain employment and security for my family in another state. I tried really hard to recruit some of my former Cabela's co-workers to come with me, but they were in denial as to what was waiting down the road for them. I hate to say it, but "I told you so". Perhaps they should not have ridiculed me when I attempted to help them.
Yes, very much so and we have all been warned about this - now reality and moving on
