For all folks that are not in the loop, here is a bit of info. I’ve seen some posts here on layoffs.com about being gearboxed but I am seeing some questions too. I have been gearboxed so I can talk about this – there is a large group of us that have been ‘gearboxed’, that means that we’ve are listed as folks who will have to find another role within IBM ASAP. We were told we were on the list, but it was not communicated to us how much time we have to find new roles.
Anyhow, as soon as another mega RA purge hits the ranks, we’ll be gone (unless we were able to find an alternate role, but we all know that this is borderline impossible in an environment where nobody is having job reqs)…
