Some of my co-workers are tending to believe that many big changes will happen rather quickly at our store after the official sale is done and over. I would be delighted if they start with upper management.

All of upper management (think executives) will be gone once the ink is dry on the purchase and the share price has been paid--that was part of the agreement. The VPs, Sr. Directors, Directors, etc. may be kept for a time, but I would presume they will be short lived. It all depends upon BP's integration plan for systems and people. They've got a lot to integrate into their systems or worse yet, scrap both theirs and Cabela's system for a completely new system! Ugh! I bet shrink goes up tremendously! Hang onto your bootstraps! Once the bank deal is approved (I heard that is still up in the air with the Comptroller,) things will go fast! So are the stores going to be re-branded to Bass Pro or will they be left as a Cabela's with Bass Pro's name in front like--Bass Pro's Cabela's?
Agree - if sales were humming it would be different - they are not - actually tanking - they will have to act fast to patch the sinking ship - no choice in that with a 5 billion dollar loan. It simply does not make sense to keep the same team that has driven it into the dirt. Unfortunate but true. WE all know the the lead rat and his bud's will get out scott free - it is us who have made things happen despite poor leadership that will be bunched in the 'goodbye" ship.
There will be brief calm - a false sense and then all heck is going to break loose. The honeymoon will be very short as the "leadership" disintegrates with the blood money then things will roll out quickly. BP will want to get there arms around everything first - won't take long though.
