Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Why is Altice still hiring if there are layoffs?

Seriously - what's wrong with this picture? Layoffs and hiring at the same time? Altice is confusing me.

The rate of hires is nowhere close to the rate of layoffs!

Also have to look at the actual positions currently being offered.

Look at the Bronx warehouse for example. They've lost over 100 technicians since the start of the year and none of those positions have been replaced.

Altice will continue to wield their ax as they see fit and will also continue to bring in a minimal amount of new hires at a minimal salary in minimalistic positions.

If you notice they aren't hiring technical positions I know quite a few they were promoted or left and no sign of their jobs.

Layoff higher paid workers, hire same position at lower pay. New hires also, can be molded into the way Altice wants things done.

Existing employees, employees that have worked under Cablevision, are resistant to Altice change.

When you are looking for a job, like so many people are, you will take something and try to keep it. That's a new hire.

Until the new hire starts talking to existing employees, and realizes that things use to be different.

So to avoid that situation, layoff former employees, that have time with previous company. Slowly or quickly, all employees will eventually be replaced. Huge savings.

Another method in savings is using internship programs. Interns don't get paid. Interns get trained. Interns can do parts of a job that Altice does not want to hire for.
