KSR here. I'm working July 4th Tuesday.
You are doing it right by helping your merchandisers and giving them time off you oviously have the team mentality. in my area it's nothing more than back stab era and people all about themselves I refuse to go the extra miles for co workers
I feel bad for many KMs and PTMs. Even before this transition I took care of the people who work for me. I always have. If it meant I worked longer then so be it. Because of this, they would do anything for me.
I have 2 KMs and 4, sometimes 5, PTMs who work for me. I've helped them all secure FT and PT employment when they are done with Kelloggs. I missed my quarter by about $12000 because I refuse to load up any store to make a number. I also refuse to work my people like dogs when there is nothing in it for them.
I asked everyone how they wanted to work this week so they could enjoy the holiday. Everyone will be off the 4th, even though it's a normal scheduled day. But there are no deliveries. Since my PTMs want hours, myself and one other are working today. Myself and two others are doing the 8 deliveries on Monday. I gave both KMs off Saturday through Tuesday. I'm making sure they both get their 10 floating holidays out so they don't lose them.
Any KSR reading this and has continued to dump product into the stores without helping your people...you're a f#$% ing idiot!! Sure I'm working 6 days this week but I will more than make up for that after the 29th when there's no more deliveries.
Easy solution...call in sick, there's nothing they can do about it.
U should get another day off if they make u work the holiday the problem is they got no one to fill in for u
You are not the only one- good luck
