People have no idea what is happening in India and still commenting on it. If everywhere 3-5% layoff per year happens, here it is 5% per quarter. People get some idea on reality before creating bogie in the name of Inida
Everyone good salary hikes ..may be 15%+ in India...? Now all should be motivated to work their a** out !! Company is slated to become No.1 Semiconductor company in next 2-3 years !!
In general company is doing well. Most BUs have shown increased profitability(margins). Employees need not be alarmed when the bottom 3-5% get cleaned up. In India it is less than 2%. It is good for other employees who continue to work for the company. At times, there can be closure of small groups where mostly people get relocated.
In India layoffs are happening every quarter across the BUs, last year a complete BU was laid off. I suppose there are few HR folks are left in India to just do full time layoffs (HR is anyways invisible and spineless in Broadcom)

With layoff every quarter, and you say "there is hardly any layoff"!!!

This is worst work culture (you may call Singapore culture). No respect for engineers, it just about making more and more money at the cost of human life.
People at higher grade are making lot of money from stocks and preaching/glorifying Ad(Hock) model.
It bubble getting created which will bust later, you can't have a successful company without innovation.
Ad(Hock) model is trying to milk cash cows and kill them when they can't give milk.
I feel pity for all companies which got acquired by Avago.
Toilets are stinking, no real HR, IT s---s.
Broadcom stock has done better than Intel or Qualcomm. With Hock at helm Broadcom is going to be the largest Semi company. All whiners can exit - not an issue !! It is not about Singapore culture, but about aggressive business growth.
If you compare with other similar companies, there is hardly any layoffs. Don't worry. Keep Focus. Work Hard.
This company did not grow and become Another Intel or Qualcomm!! So they took the money and gave up. Losers. All the political bs inside the company created incompetence and produced this result. Now all the jobs will be gone to overseas. Feature is uncertain. Avago will fail. Singapore culture doesn't creat or enovate. From nothing to nothing. Just lots of pain to poor engineers that devoted their life to this. What a waste.
This is about making money and moving key technology overseas. You all going to be on the streets with your pants down. LOLS
