Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Altice is as good as gone

Altice is the worst thing that ever happened to Cablevision customers/employees. The employees are running scared not knowing if and when the next check will come. The customers are frustrated with the prices going up with no added value to justify it.

This is what I have been trying to wrap my head around lately. How do you run a company where neither your employees nor your customers are happy, or at least somewhat content, and not expect to go under?

So true! Altice taking over Suddenlink or any other company, means sure death to it. Not just their employees, but the customers. When this company took over suddenlink, the employees were walking on eggshells due to not knowing what to expect. They should have expected the worst and high tailed their asses out of that place! They started at first, getting rid of all their senior workers, who knew how things worked. They offered some severence packages (either you take it they fire you whenever they want) and some they fired.

The techs had it the worst! Poor guys working their asses off, and not even being provided with the proper safety equipment to do the job, were left in a mess by this company. Their ladders were not even certified when they were suppose to be and no headlights were provided by the company for working in the hot attics and under the houses. You had to buy your own dam boots accoeding to what this company wanted. Your pay started not when you got in their truck and started driving, but when you got to your first job and there were no breaks in between. Some of thes guys would be told to cut their i hour lunch short!

They were never honest with their tech employees about what they really wanted. They wanted the majority of them gone, to hire on most contractors. So how did they manage to get rid of most of the techs? Starting creating a bunch of new forms, techs never used before and warning and harassing them by email that they would be written up (veveryone knows writeups lead to fire). This constant harassment at work, led many to leave of their own accord and seeking employment elsewhere.

They implemented a 'point' system to accomplish getting rid of more techs. The way it worked was like this: they are the ones who give you jobs for the day and they are the ones who place a certain number of points on each job and they can change the points whenever they wanted. So, if you didn't get enough points for the day, you would get written up and eventually they could fire you! This happened to me. I was foolish enough not to see the writing on the wall when the others left. I'm very reliable and hard working, so I just kept doing my job.

One day, I get called in and was told that I was not making enough points and I needed to be written up. I didn't agree with what was said because I could only do the jobs I was given, so I declined to sign such a form and the supervisor got upset. He started calling me all the time after that for another week and then called me in and said he was letting me go. He took my phone from my hand and wiped it clean, took my keys to the truck and told some guy to give me a ride home. He also made sure I would not have access to all the harassing emails he sent out regularly to all the techs.

Altice is a hostile environment to work in and reminds you of those sweat shops that you see on TV.

Suddenlink USED to be a good place, until it got taken over by Altice. Now, it's a disgrace to what an honorable company is suppose to act like. It's a predator upon its employees and even its customers, when it closes most of their customer care centers so people can no longer go in to pay their bills,etc.. and talk to someone alive. Altice is a virus.

Give costumers direct TV number as you tell them they are being charged for the call

Tell all your costumers what altice is doing and how money oriented they are ruining finances for many workers and raising charge quotas . Management is so afraid to step up for employees and do what's right because vthey don't want to start over again like us. Hr is terrible as well guilty for any injury we may have happen on the job. Altice is biting a large bite with it's new vision and ruining thousands of people's lives throughout it's footprint. Slow down and be passionate for your fellow man your techs don't expect to live in a 30 million dollar house we just want to live respectfully caring for our family why is it so hard for anyone to see this . Share the wealth stop the greed .

La box Will kill all this..don't need much techs to maintain plant n customers will look at this as an exciting new thing one box in the home. As for the field they will keep a few but that's it. They didn't spend billions to just run it down the drain lol

The only reason psc agreements for qos aren't being investigated is because the fees are so high for service calls. Someone call shame on you.

Seeing the same thing with the Suddenlink systems, techs leaving or looking to leave. Customers frustrated and disconnecting. It's going down hill fast!
