Any early reliable information on percentage of EIS employees being absorbed/hired by Allscripts vs just being RIF'd outright in October? Curious if this is going to be 50%, 90%, etc. And does anyone know how many EIS employees there are?
October will be awful for a lot of folks.
The severance packages that will delivered to the RIF'd employees after the close in October will be the same as what McKesson has always given - 2 weeks per year of service. After that, if you remain an Allscripts employee then everyone's guess is as good as mine as to what their severance packages will be if you are laid off later.
We were told ALLSCRIPTS severance packages were "comparable" to McKesson. Does anyone know if that's true?
Yes you will get a package, but very unlikely for the years you served for McKesson. My friend's company got bought by an india company. He just got 4 weeks even he served 15+ plus years.
Severance will be given, do not fret. Large layoffs are coordinated with the state's where employees reside. It is the law. Whether the new company or not, severance will be given. Especially with McKesson, as this is routine and the states just duplicate the forms from the layoffs from the prior month.. McKesson wasn't giving you severence out of the goodness of their heart(mia).
They're playing their cards close to their chest. We won't really know anything until it's announced. But one really only needs to look at the established MCK pattern to anticipate the likely outcome.
You very nicely will be laid off shortly after the sale and it is highly doubtful any severance packages will be given since they buyer owes you nothing.
Now be sure to say Thank You.
What sale? Have we been sold?
