Actually every possible "merger" (takeover) has been scuttled by the potential buyers once they dig into the books and study the trends and the competition. Prediction: No transaction until it's a fire sale for the brand name only. The reason why there hasn't been a deal is because the price isn't low enough. A whole bunch more sh*t has to hit the fan and shares have to get a whole lot cheaper before there's a deal. Unfortunately, cheaper might mean ZERO as the bondholders march in and carve up the remains.
I hope whoever they merge with continues to give us the free pizza we get everyday at my store!
