Verizon techs also feel they work for the union, not Verizon. Most if not all hate their job, I was raised in a union household (Verizon) and I was represented by a union before I worked for CV. Imy needs and wanrs were disrearded, I was told we will tell you what you want, now Shut up.
Want to make more money and have job security, work harder and smarter than others.
Sticking together cannot happen if union tough guys bash everyone who do not agree with them.
We will be lucky not to loose all our sick time in 2018
The current gov't might stink. But the previous gov't admin stepped In and made some amazing improvements for vz landline .
10% wage increases
$1k (return 2 work ) signing bonus
Hiring of over 1k workers across the whole mid Atlantic / new England .
There might have been some other pension changes
Basically everything vz wanted to change / reduce ... the union and gov't overturned and made better ..
And big red contracts are 4 years so next election year we will see how bad current gov't really is .
There are still power in unions ...
NYPD just won a contract .
Employees Will make > 85k after 5 years ..
M T A is union and they make big $$
