the city recently game a grant for 500 thousand if a company hired 49 people. Does this sound about right a minimum of 10 thousand 200 dollars for each new employee hired?

You must be a major stockholder if you alone can save this town. It is not up to you or the state to save this town. Companies relocate headquarters to different cities all the time. No one knows what is in the sale agreement , merger, acquisition (whatever you want to call it) regarding headquarters . SEC document states Corp will be in Missouri. This is a forum to discuss issues surrounding layoffs in corporate America. This one is specifically for Cabela's. And it is not only for Cabela's corporate, but for the entire corporation across the country (and Canada). Now for my own CAPS: IT IS NOT A FORUM TO DISCUSS THE CITY COUNCIL OF SIDNEY NEBRASKA. There are 18,000 employees at Cabela's THAT DON'T LIVE IN SIDNEY and are getting tired of the bickering on this site!

YOU are the broken record you have yet to reply to one question. the truth Cabela's has always lived up to the arrangement they signed and Sidney is where the founder of the company live. the wire company received a 500 thousand to hire several employees with in a few months the lay off started. The truth we can work with the lifeline of this community and of north Platte Kearney Oshkosh Omaha and the state of Nebraska to try and make sure we go forward with the best effort to maintain or expand the number of employees at Cabela's we can choose a policy of living in a make believe world where bass pro or Cabela's will lay off a number of employees and the city manager will count the number of employees with the economic developer and they simply need to tap their heels together and say there is no place like Sidney there is no place like Sidney and jobs will appear for anyone that need one.

Why throw the new company under the bus and the wire plant. How much money did cab get and they also laid off employees. Cab is no innocent bystander. Tired of cab employees who think they are better than anyone else.
What would the room think about considering grant money are subject to length of employment and net employment. I will give you an example lets say the new company hire someone a year then fire them the next. perhaps a time period of two or three years could be made to get the full 10 thousand dollars per employee. Also I think one time the wire place got a grant for hiring I think 50 employee and got lets say 500 thousand. then I think a month latter the same place laid off as many employee as they hired out of a different department. . I think some kind of guidelines need to be in place in regard to length of service for the employee hired and also net employees at the plant.
