the city of Sidney has hired a new fiancé director for the newly created post. we hired a new economic developer for the newly created post just recently . I do understand our city manager feel he is overworked . However I do know the city caught two stray cats at the park. I did see two dogs going to the bathroom at the soccer fields. However with two new position created to take the work load off of ed sadler I am hoping the city manager may have time to ( considering the two stray cats were caught at the park) TO HAVE A COMMENT ON THE SITUATION AT CABELAS WHICH HAS BEEN THE FOCUS OF EVERY MAJOR MEDIA IN THE STATE OF NEBRASKA AND THE FOCUS OF MOST MAJOR MEDIA IN THE ENTIRE MIDWEST WHAT EFECT THE CABELAS SITUATION WILL HAVE ON SIDNEY NEBRASKA. On no I saw a truck parked on the street by 11 th avenue and I just a cat go across my neighbor lawn. I doubt the city manager will have time to focus on( THE BIGGEST POTENTIAL DISASTER IN THE HISTORY IN NOT ONLY SIDNEY BUT SEVERAL CITIES IN NEBRASKA) now.

this Is a forum to debate issues. I suggest the city of Sidney should do as I believe every other city council or board of commissioner allow at every meeting in the state of Nebraska except the Sidney city council in Sidney Nebraska and allow a discussion of issues brought by the pubic and the city council officials. This has been the policy of allowing a discussion of issue between the pubic and the city council officials until now.

But why do anything if the city council has every one of us ignored? Exactly.
this is a totally serious comment and all joking asides. however can you imagine if the worst thing happen and Cabela's should eliminate a lot of jobs at corporate and the effect this will have on those who still have homes in Sidney. Our council during all this time have basically continue to spend spend spend spend and spend until there is no end. When Sidney is growing this pattern is almost impossible to keep up. however if Sidney should suffer a situation with the lost of a lot of Cabela's. the home owners who still have property will have to pick up a lot more of the burden of government because business will close and the assets available for taxation will decline tremendously, sales tax revenue will decline tremendously and home valuation will decline tremendously . The city of Sidney already is burden with so much debt over the years I do not know what the city can do. However the only thing they can do is probably to do what the council is not use to and the residents of city are used to now. WATCH THE SPENDING. There is another thing the city can do WHICH I ASSUME IS AVAILABE TO EVER RESIDENT IN EVERY COMMUNITY IN NEBRASKA BESIDES SIDNEY NEBRASKA AND THAT IS HAVING THE COUNCILMEN AVAILABLE TO DISCUSS ISSUES AT CITY COUNCIL MEN BESIDES A THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENT AFTER EVERY PUBIC COMMENT.
