Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

"Moving forward, techs are no longer required to re-run drops, just barrel them."

In all my years of being a field technician, I never would've thought I'd hear something like this from management. I'd like to know who exactly signed off on this initiative. Is this how Altice plans on maintaining its position as a "world class organization" ?

SUPPOSEDLY, if drop is cut close to span clamp and won't reach tap, barreling there is acceptable vs running the drop if drop cert passes.

as in "If there is a cut in the line between the strand and the house P-hook, just barrel it (so it can pull out at some point)"? That's....I don't even know what to say lol
