Thread regarding DeVry Inc. layoffs

DeVry is part of the College Meltdown

Forget about DeVos, Falwell, and others being saviors for DeVry. The system is (partially) collapsing. Many working people are waking up to the fact that they cannot afford college--that it's a risky bet. Schools like DeVry are particularly risky.

Absolutely, every experience has been outstanding for me at DeVry. I recommend anyone attending to either have intense background experience in entry-level business and/or go in with a Bachelor's Degree in a Business Major.

And I'm coming from a community college perspective.

Everything stems from what you do with your path and where your path is directed toward.

You're the director in this, no one else.

Why would they close now, after all of the results to bring up the school to the top level? Put all the monies where they belong, for the students to get where they need. I couldn't argue more then saying the next year will prove the doubters wrong, on evry condition.

According to scamden kid devry has closed its doors or should have already. Yet they keep moving forward and onward. The problem is scamden can never admit when he is wrong. Devry should have been shut down by the FTC according to him and they are broke according to him. If scamden could only read a balance sheet. Scamden devry isn't going anywhere. Save yourself the time from bashing. I'm surprised the school hasn't sued you personally for slander.

What about a refund for the monies already spent? Those who paid already the inflated rates should be due their refunds first. Let the scavengers fight over the rest of the refunds.

Until it gets close to state university level or community college level in price they won't see much improvement. Why would a student pay crazy high prices for the same education they can get at a elsewhere for a cheaper price? An education that is more respected at that.

No, it won't work. Exorbitantly high tuition is just one of many, many things wrong with DeVry.

So DV cuts undergrad tuition by 20% (see press release) and yet is still way above Career Education and Strayer. Does anyone think the 20% cut will work or does another 20-30% have to happen?
