Closing Commerce office, opening new headquarters in downtown

Lisa just emailed the "exciting news" that her ego as CEO wasn't sufficiently stroked by having her office in Downers Grove, so they're opening an office in downtown Chicago and relocating her and her direct reports to that area. In addition to that, they're closing the Commerce office in Oak Brook and relocating those IT folks to Downers Grove. But how to fit everyone? By making life s--- more for the colleagues, of course! Desk sharing and "expanded Flex Work" with alternating WFH days to make it work.

You can just feel the commitment to drive away the rest of us who have been dumb enough to stick around.

DVG ... I mean Ad-TEL-um is doing everything they possibly can to separate themselves from DVU. The office, the restructured "verticals" on the last investor call, and the alignment of DVG businesses into the profitable and the NON-profitable buckets. Of course it makes good business sense. How long can a parent company go on carrying a business (DVU) that has lost 22% in revenue compared to 2016 every quarter this fiscal year and 25% of total students quarter over quarter this fiscal year.

I am thinking more will get let go to pay for the new place for a few people to essentially take up space. It's where all the managers who don't know how to manage will go. It's like they are centralizing the inept.

Commerce was SAC (our collections team), project managers, IT, and helpdesk

Who was actually at commerce? I had to go a couple of times and it was more than IT there.

There is no reason we should be signing a new lease for an office for a few people. She needs to s--- it up and stay in DG. Lead by example and save some money. How many people will be let go take up for this stupidity of having an office at yet another location? Didn't we learn anything from the last location in Chicago we had that was open for like 2 years? I feel we have traded in one incompetent CEO for another.

How is opening a new office in downtown Chicago cost efficient? Apparently living within our means doesn't apply to upper management. And we wonder why we keep losing money? Mismanagement and wasting money like this. But we can't ask them to slum it up of course, heaven forbid.

And yet DVU Home Office is staying in Downers Grove. Another clear action to separate from DVU. I smell a spinoff of some kind.
