Thread regarding DST Systems Inc. layoffs

Before I got layed off at DST

Before my last day, I did the bear minimum work, since nobody asked the critical things in the hopper I didn't tell them, nor gave any advice so I am sure it promptly blew up the day after I left. All the critical things I had in my head about the system and how to fix things, since I have an excellent memory, well nobody asked me to write any of it down for future reference, they figured it was all so easy to figure out, so I left with that only set of knowledge (in my head). People tried to call me the next day, but I didn't answer. There is just too much to document (unless that the only thing you do). So out walked years of info that I was not under any obligation or was even asked to share or document. All to save a few bucks, well really all to save the manager's favorite person in the dept, even though that person was less productive than me. But they did have their fav to brighten their day when things went down. Sometimes looks are more important than an orderly and well run department (even if you are never going to get the chance to date the better looking fav). People just have to have their romantic dreams, but it shouldn't impact DST's clients....

I am working on placing into a job externally. I am not going to document anything I know when I leave. There are many things my co-workers have refused to learn or help out with and I am not going to make it easy for them when they made it difficult for me.

One gal years ago left Dst, gave Sprint a bunch of dst referrals they hired and gave Sungard some code.
