When I was hired at IBM (2011) my 'business direction' manager had 5 FTE's reporting to her.
As of today, only 1 remains - 2 were pushed out (over 50 with 15+ years ) and replaced with a contractor, the other was moved to a new account to avoid being RA'd. in summary, they get paid to do nothing..
