Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Most employees are blind . Altice are a bunch of bank Wall Street investors that are hired guns . The telecommunication giants have hired them to buy Cablevision, reduce salaries , operational and capital cost and then break up and sell to Charter , Comcast and any other telecommunication company who is interested. Altice do not believe in paying salaries . This is just the beginning folks .

They did not use THEIR money to buy Optimum. It was INVESTOR money used by a CORPORATION that currently has 50billion in debt. THEY get paid by syphoning off as much money from Optimum as they can and into THEIR pockets. Who is watching that will stop them? Did you even watch Wall Street? Gecko did not need to break up the airline and he could have still made money but he wanted to milk it dry just because he could. Thats what these monsters do. Look at their TRACK RECORD. Go call someone from Suddenlink and ask how its going. Go call someone from SFR and ask how its going. They are Investment Bankers pretending to be Telecom pros. Optimum has already gone to crap and so has Suddenlink and any other company they plan to touch. This is what they do and when they are done they will sell it to Charter or Comcast for pennies because they already milked the company dry. Then they can go back to their lodge and paddle each others behinds until their hearts desire. They are all friends at that level, proteges so to speak. It is NOT and I repeat, it is NOT their money. Its a paper corporation and they are nothing more than money changers. The best employees left a long time ago and the remaining talent got VRP's. You are not the cream of the crop techs that they plan to shower with IPO money. If you thought so much of the IPO you could quit and invest while not being employed here. You are most likely lacking any real education that will prevent you from doing anything to stop them or going anywhere better so of course you take the fake bonus offer and force yourself to believe you have done the right thing. What other choice do you have? These are the facts. Who wants to argue?

Lol you can't have a contract when Altice USA no longer does field work. You do know the goal is for ATS to handle all field work right? What good is a lawyer if the company shifts from field to business lol. Construction guys running fiber through Long Island like mad dogs. We field techs already got an introduction to fiber class. So really don't know what fantasy land you Altice boys living in. Face it you made a dumb mistake thinking union had the power to change anything. It was over the moment the company was sold. Whether it's Altice now or ATS later optimum is dead. We are all contractors owned by Altice period. No sugar coating it. Is the company complete trash? Yes overwhelmingly so. But it is what it is. Not much going on any different in the industry for as far as the eye can see. So you go where the money is for however long it last. Optimum is dead and this is what's left.

You're not getting the points because they are trying to eliminate you. A little thick aren't you? Don't care about bonuses. I know I'm in a better company. Around 10% of our shop is training on fiber right now so yet again your imagination fails to meets reality.

Sounds like the only peeps upset these days are the ones that signed up to be contractors. Others are just moving to better pastures at another company.

That's why contract techs are the best. Only a master tech like me can do the job quick and efficient. Unlike s---er union techs that cry with three jobs. We getting that bonus every quarter. While Altice techs count pennies lol
